DVB Metadata Module

Recently Arbor Media developed a solution to extract metadata from a DVB transport stream, for our ASI Recording or TS-over-IP Recording modules.
The solution extends the current LogDepot metadata system.
 
This DVB Metadata Module parses the Event Information Table (EIT) and Services Description Table (SDT) from the DVB stream for one or more configured channels, effectively storing the most important items of the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) information. For example: Start time, duration, content descriptor, short- and extended event descriptor etc. This way of EPG Recording automatically adds valuable metadata to the Compliance Recording or Broadcast Recording system.
It interfaces with the existing Metadata fetcher infrastructure for storage and representation by the LogDepot web client. In the near future the module will support extracting metadata from RDS enabled radio channels also.
 
The module runs alongside a LogDepot Video module, without the need of additional hardware. The target platform is Windows Server 2003 or 2008.
