Metadata Module

for Broadcast & Conference Solutions
LogDepot is particularly strong in capturing metadata, recognizing that recording large amounts of audio and video only makes sense if there is metadata available, describing what has been recorded. The LogDepot Metadata system consists of various Metadata Loggers and the Metadata Fetcher. The Metadata Logger is a part of Arbor Media’s LogDepot system, which is able to log and retrieve metadata from various sources.

Sources could be:

Broadcast
  • Program information
  • PDC
  • EPG
  • RDS Information
  • DVB EPG
  • XML files
  • “as run” lists
  • and more….

Conference
  • Microphone systems; e.g. Bosch, Televic
  • Microphone open
  • Microphone number
  • Speaker name
  • Meeting title
  • and more....

The use of the metadata is versatile:
  • Display the information during playback
  • Use information for easier navigation
  • Reproduce the relevant metadata upon export of AV items (to feed subsequent system with useful information)
  • Automatic export depending on metadata content
The LogDepot can handle all sorts of metadata, there is no need to stick to a dedicated scheme, and –
more important – metadata schemes may vary per video channel.

LogDepot offers the following possibilities for metadata:

Broadcast

  • Recording RDS information such as Radiotext, Traffic Information, Music/Speech and more
  • Recording PDC information containing the station name and the program title
  • Recording XML data, allowing any type of source
  • Recording EPG data from DVB transport stream
  • Recording “as run” lists
  • .... any customized metadata backend – such as looking up a customer database - can easily be
    created.

Conference

  • Recording microphone information provided by Bosch DCN
  • Recording microphone information provided by Televic
  • Recording XML data, allowing any type of source
  • ... any customized metadata backend – such as looking up a customer database - can easily be created.
