When tv station MTV started its broadcasting activities in 1981, it fired a true revolution. Broadcasting video clips non-stop was new and instantly encountered great enthusiasm. By now MTV owns a number of tv stations, among which MTV Europe, MTV Germany and MTV Netherlands. For the last-mentioned tv-station Arbor Media recently extended the number of MTV videologgers. 

In the first instance MTV only broadcast English programmes. In the ‘90’s MTV decided to start a number of specific, national tv stations. MTV Germany, Scandinavia, Great-Britain and Italy to start with, followed by MTV Netherlands in 2000. From that moment on the station could plot its own course, concentrate on Dutch commercials and subtitle programmes. By 2008 MTV has developed into a broadly respected, highly valued and serious entity in the Dutch media landscape, including all the consequences such a position brings with it. Just like all the other Dutch tv and radio stations e.g. MTV is subject to the laws, rules and checks of the Dutch Commission for the Media. 

Further growth 

With respect to this obligation MTV Netherlands takes care of meticulous archiving of all its broadcasts. Since the end of 2006 it applies Arbor LogDepot for this purpose. Originally with five videologgers. This number was extended to ten by March 2007. Between that moment and the end of 2008 this number was gradually supplemented to the total of 24 videologgers MTV now has at its disposal. With the installed Arbor configuration MTV is anticipating future extensions. Over the years MTV and Arbor Media have built up a close, mutually beneficial relationship, to each other’s entire satisfaction.
