Subtitle recording

From V6.5, the LogDepot video Backend supports the recording of Teletext subtitle information. The subtitles can be recorded from Transport Stream sources, such as DVB-S, DVB-C, DVB-T or from SDI inputs. The system treats both ways equally. It is also capable of re-muxing subtite information from an SDI input to a TS output.

The subtitles are displayed in the webclient for easy review and - of course - they are written as XML metadata (or in SRT format) together with the video, upon export of a video clip.

Apart from the appropriate version of the Video Backend, the logging of subtitles requires the additional Subtitle Backend. This is a special metadata backend, designed to interpret subtitle information.

LogDepot supports recording of subtitles in World System Teletext format (ETSI EN 300 706) both from MPEG TS sources (ETSI EN 301 775 / ETSI EN 300 472) and from SDI vertical ancillary data (VANC, SMPTE 2031).
